Hardware environments for license compliance

I'm trying to figure out how to get the hardware environment in the license or minimally in the devices tab of the application. 

We have licenses counts based on environment installations. 

 

we are on flexnet manager suite

Could you please describe a bit more what you are trying to do? Is this about licensing the host (hardware) in a virtualization scenario?

If your scenario here is that you're seeking to exclude software installed on devices in environments such as "Production", "Test", "Development", "Training", etc, from consuming licenses, then some settings to check out are:

  • The Device role property on inventory device records identifies the role (aka "environment") of each device:

  • Use the settings in the Exemptions area on the Use rights & rules tab when viewing a license record to configure which device roles do/do not require licenses:
