Summary
How to update FlexNet Embedded Publisher Keys in FlexNet Operations Cloud (ALM or LLM) and ALM On Prem and keep the same Identity
Synopsis
If a customer changes the FlexNet Embedded publisher keys (add new platform support) in FlexNet Operations Cloud (ALM/LLM) or ALM On Prem) and needs to keep the same identity, they will need to follow the instructions below to update their existing Identities. If they are in a testing phase it much easier to generate a new identity in FlexNet Operations Cloud using the UI and download that new identity to the FlexNet Embedded Clients.
Discussion
If the customer changes the publisher keys and has FlexNet Operations Cloud (ALM/LLM) Support needs to request the publisher keys be updated in FlexNet Operations Cloud. If the customer has FlexNet Operations on prem (ALM) the publisher keys will be automatically updated by following the steps below. If they want to keep the same identity name they will need to update the existing Identity.
Download the existing identity files from FlexNet Operations Cloud
Create some work directory
In FlexNet Operations Cloud, navigate to the Identity you want to update
Download all 3 binary files from FlexNet Operations Cloud and save them in your work directory (you don't need the C or Java files)
Copy these files to some back-up location in case you want to revert
Start pubidutil (which you can find in your FNE /bin/tools directory)
point pubidutil to the bin files you just downloaded to your work directory
pubidutil should show you the old publisher keys as well as the identity name and key algorithm and strength
Change the publisher keys
Click submit
Pubidutil has updated your keys in the work directory (check time stamp of the files)
Go back to FNOC and upload the new IdentityBackOffice.bin
navigate to the Identity you want to update
Click update
Click Browse
Find the updated IdentityBackOffice.bin and click submit
Acknowledge the warning
The application will upload your identity file with the new publisher keys
Verify
Download the Client Identity in either C or Java flavor and open the file in a text editor. In the header you should see the new publisher keys
Test that a client that had the old identity file can still communicate with the back office
Test that a client with the new identity file can communicate with the back office

Andy,
Reporter only has the options to email or send to a Reporter Inbox. If you create a support case, there may be a way to do a data extract and deliver the file to an FTP location.

That's correct. There is no option to automatically save them to a location within FNO. The report may be shared so that users can run it as needed. If the report is scheduled it may be delivered to users via email or to their Reporter Inbox (requires the user to login to FNO and access Reporter).

Andy,
I thought of two ways to do this.
1. Save the report to the shared folder in Reporter and then any user who goes to Reporter may access and run the report.
2. Stop the current scheduled report and schedule it again. This time instead of choosing email recipients, choose Inbox. This will deliver the report to a list of Reporter Users' inboxes. Each user may then login and find the report in their Reporter Inbox and download.

Do you just want to run the reports from the Reporter UI and save as Excel or CSV instead of receiving an email? If so, then the answer is yes. If not please explain further so that we may better understand what you are trying to accomplish.

Description:
Entitlement line start and end date changes when Entitlement data is exported from ALM using the "Data Import Template" option. For example, an entitlement line in the Producer Portal UI has a start date of 2018-11-7 and an end date of 2019-11-7. When exporting entitlement data and choosing 'Data Import Template' , the exported Excel sheet shows the start date as 2018-11-6 and the end date as 2019-11-6 (both one day earlier than in the UI).
Replication Scenario:
- Login to the Producer Portal (https://XXXX.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/operations
- Select 'List Entitlements by Order' from the Entitlements menu
- Cursor over the Export drop down menu and select 'Data Import Template' (note the Job for Export and Import Background Jobs must be enabled)
- Under the Administer drop down menu select Import/Export Status from the Data I/O section
- Find your export job (likely the first one on the list) and once the status is completed, check the box and click the Download exported file button
- Find and open the Excel file saved to your system
- Compare the start and end dates for each entitlement line with what is displayed in the UI
- The entitlement start and end dates in the Excel file are one day earlier than the dates displayed in the UI.
Resolution:
This is a known bug (FNO-56484). Once a fix is determined, Revenera will provide a target date.
Until a fix is implemented, please be aware of the date discrepancy and adjust any affected processes and data accordingly.

Sometimes the following errors occur when attempting to upload files via the Producer Portal user interface or when submitting loadFileImage transactions.
"There was an unexpected error while copying the file into master storage. (Code: SM)"
or
"There was an unexpected error while copying the file into master storage. (Code: MC)"
These errors typically occur when the file is still in the process of loading to the FTP upload server (upload.flexnetoperations.com). The solution is to wait until the file finishes loading to the FTP before attempting to upload the file.

Why do EndUser/Portal User roles have Producer Portal permissions?
Answer:
End User permissions are dependent on Producer Portal permission. Having Producer Portal permissions does not mean users (Customer Users) can access the Producer Portal. Users with a Portal User role are limited to accessing the End User Portal. Only Users with a Producer role may access the Producer Portal.
For example for View Accounts to work for a Portal User the role needs the regular (Producer Portal) View Accounts permission and the End User Portal View Accounts permission.

Answer:
Flexera's Download Manager does not use either ActiveX control or Flash.
The Download Manger checks the Origin HTTP header and validates the security of the download URLs using JSON Web Token Authentication. Flexera's Download Manager only works with FlexNet Operations.
The Download Manager pre-allocates a temporary download file in the installed users Downloads folder. When the file is fully downloaded the temporary file is renamed and may be accessed by the user.

When opening a case for FlexNet Operations Cloud, please provide the below information where possible. Providing this information with your case will help shorten the time to a solution or answer.
- URL of your tenant (for example: https://flex1102-fno.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/operations/)
- Environment (UAT or Production)
- Description of the problem or question. What are you trying to accomplish? What is your desired result?
- Steps to reproduce the problem. Please provide specific examples.
- Any error messages. If there are errors, screenshots that include the page URL are very helpful
- Web Service requests, please an example of the XML of the request and response received and the user that submits the requests
- Reporter, please copy the report into the Shared folder and provide the name of the report

Unfortunately there is no magic document for this. You need to identify which components and versions are involved in sending the communication to our systems. Your tools that send the SOAP requests may be built on JAVA, .NET or another platform and you will need to check the version and see if and how to include support for the TLS 1.2 protocol. You OS may also be a factor. For example if you are running a Linux system you may be using a version of OpenSSL to control secure communication and will need to check these to make sure they support TLS 1.2. You may need to apply an update to an individual component or take some action to enable TLS 1.2 support. Hopefully this will help get you started on where and what to look for with your integration.

The below instructions assume the file is already loaded in FlexNet Operations and available to download.
1) In the Producer Portal, go to Administer / Create Custom Attributes and Add an Attribute
2) For the created Attribute, the Name is ANONYMOUS_ALLOWED (use all upper case characters), the Entity Type is FILE, Status is ACTIVE, Type is TEXT, Text Type is SINGLE SELECT. Put in the values TRUE and FALSE. Save the Custom Attribute.
3) Assign the ANONYMOUS_ALLOWED custom attribute to one of your files. Using the drop down on the ANONYMOUS_ALLOWED to set the value to TRUE. Save the file definition.
4) Go to the Download Package associated with this file and make note of the Export Compliance values assigned to the download package- you will need this information when building your URL if you need to enforce Export Compliance with the file.
5) Below is an example of the URL where TENANT = the first part of your Producer Portal URL. The systemFileD and export values are example values and will need to be changed to match your file and download package. https://TENANT-esd.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/operations/AnonymousDownload?systemFileID=12521687&eccnNum=5D002&leEnc=TSU&ccats=&nlr=F
If the file does not need export controls, the URL format below may be used.

It sounds like the activation IDs may not be in use, but we will need to look closer at the data to know. Please create a support case with the details. If you make a copy of your report in the shared folder Support can access the report and take a closer look.

Martynas - Your FNO license allow you to install 5 instances of FNO. I see you were able to download the 2018 R1 version (the latest). If you need the 2017 version you may find it under the release archive tab in the Product and License Center.
