So the agent i'm running on the systems is 2022R2, but it's reporting back to 2021 R1 at the moment. Upgrade of the servers is pending some red tape....i figured i'd see the account ID info in the NDI file...but maybe that was too hopeful. The backend is the piece i'm missing here i guess?

Want to put this out to the community to see if i'm missing something. I'm reading that the agent installed on EC2 gathers "enhanced information":

the URLs contained within the above show how to grab instance information:
http://169.254.169.254/latest/dynamic/instance-identity/document
On an instance--i can navigate to that and get the JSON that shows me the information i want---"AccountID" being one of them.
Also found this post along the same lines--except this was for potential issue with being recognized as an Amazon EC2...which not a problem i'm having.
AWS servers hosted in is showing on-premise by FlexNet Inventory agent - Community (flexera.com)
Eventhough the information is available---it's still not pulling the AccountID into the inventory and providing it back to FNM. This single piece of information alone would be very helpful, and i thought i'd heard that the newest version of the agent would grab that information.
Note: I know that this info would be available if we have the Amazon AWS connector in place---we have a "tug of war" going on over here where they do not want us to have that access, so we're stuck with this. Some of the ways we build the association to various cost centers would be made easier with this single piece of information.

In my case...it was the directory services team didn't want to install the agent. not that it couldn't be done--they just didn't want to. My implementation was something to make everyone happy :D.

We worked with our Directory services team on a smiliar situation--and we just provided them the ndtrack.exe and they placed it in a temp folder on the DC and setup a scheduled task to run once a month (or could do on any schedule you wish) to run the ndtrack with desired options and passing the argument of the beacon to upload the inventory to. Worked like a charm.

@DSood1 -- is there a repository, or place to collect the latest extractors from? This has happened to us in the past where we've reuqired the lastest FNM extractor to fix some inconsistencies we saw between FNM and DP. Would be helpful is there was a place to get the latest extractors from instead of having to put tickets in.

Hoping someone has found a way to make this work. I feel like we're almost there...but still not able to successfully test and use this connection.
We have a customer who is not using commercial M365, but GovCloud. Out of the box, the URLs point to "microsoft.com"---but we will use "microsoft.us". We have tried updating the URLs to reflect that, and working with the Portal admin team, they have created OAuth token endpoints that seemingly should be working. We are using the client secret method.
We put together some powershell to validate the connection and we are able to connect via Powershell using the Connect-AZ* cmdlets to validate connectivity is good. We just can't get the Beacon connector to connect successfully.
Flexera Support has told us GovCloud is not "officially supported"--but may work with some URL tweaks.
Anyone get this working? Thanks!

@mfeinman -- kclausen's link explains how FNM will make the tie between images and clones that use that gold image....so you want the agent to scan the image at some point--and then when the XenDesktop connector queries the Delivery Controllers---it will recognize what machines out there are using that image...and therefore have a complete picture.
There are cases where the agent baked into an image is needed---we used it at a large customer that wanted to track application usage with the agent. Typically the apps baked into the image aren't ones you care about---but in this case, the did.
Also sometimes non-persistent images are used for XenApp (Virtual Apps) servers, and we had an agent on those tracking app usage.

You could also have your Non-Prod beacon have a ManageSoft inventory source configured to point to the Production FNMSInventory Database to gather the info on agents that have checked in to the prod environment.

Having a non-prod instance is a great way to do testing and we try to have this configuration at every customer install we do. As such, we spend a great deal of time doing the engineering for these engagements and creating the documentation to support it, for deliverables and repeatability at each engagement. Your ask is beyond the typical "i'm seeing this issue...or trying to do this thing". What you're asking for is typically what we are paid by people to do. What is your data source on these installations? It has been my experience that specific editions are reported by only the FlexNet Agent installed on these systems. Sources like MECM will show you the product, but not edition, therefore can't be tied to specific licensing.

What are you using for CMDB? FNMS to ServiceNow has out of the box support on both sides, and is well documented.

As nice as clustered SQL is....be aware that any SQL cluster hiccups and failovers were not tolerated by running FNMS processes...atleast not for us. We had issues with an enterprise SQL cluster at a customer---and our reconciliations, which already took the better part of 10 hours to run through everything, would bomb out due to a SQL failover happening overnight, which would hang everything up. Before we departed, they never fully corrected their SQL issues---but we were in the prcoess of moving back to our own maintained DB servers b/c that was less of a risk having me as a DBA 😄

We have an environment where we have FNMS running and collecting inventory, however one of the groups we are working with has an air-gapped network that requires inventory, but will not have any FNMS server infrastructure in place. We have successfully, in the past, been able to have the ndtrack process utilize a file share to drop the NDI files, and we collect them in one place and move them to FNMS manually.
We have done this previously with the Windows Agent utilizing the "UploadLocation" set to "file:////servername.comain.com/ShareName" and it works.
I'm not a Unix person...not sure if i need to mount the share prior to doing this...i'm fooling around with different things, but curious if anyone has ever done this. it's a fairly small environment---so options are fairly limited (no web/FTP services), and would rather not have to manually collect the NDI files from each system. Thanks for any ideas or thoughts.

Any information that could be helpful in running this down? What do the compliance reader logs from this particular job on that beacon show you? Is it erroring out, running and not fetching anything? Need some info.
