@jdempsey Thanks for the edit. This is really helpful actually as we are seeing delays when a new employee onboards in how quickly their device gets mapped to them. This general catalog item to set user affinity might be a good solution.

For example, if a user is in two groups where one is granted Read permission and the other granted Write permission, the permissions will be Read; they are not cumulative." from "Managing Administration Permissions" in the App Portal System Administration Guide - would mean that if I add Read permissions to Site Management the R/W/D would not take effect and the user would only be able to view the Site Feedback they would not be able to respond to them. @kevin_philpot That makes sense. The issue here is the customer wants to assign a Site Feedback role to a user and have that individual handle responding to all Site Feedback, but not have access to any other admin functions. A view only report or read only role in the dashboard doesn't satisfy this request.

i am trying to limit access for the person handling submitted Site Feedback in App Portal. Site Feedback exists under the Communication tab but when I provide the user only R/W/D permissions under Site Communication they cant see Site Feedback but they can see the data in the other tabs under Communication i.e. notifications, approve reasons, etc. If i provide the user permissions under Site Management then they can see Site Feedback. Is there a way to resolve this? The customer wants this user to only have access to site feedback and not permissions to the rest of the Site Management sections.

In App Portal 2018 R1 I am seeing an issue with a License Exceeded workflow. This workflow has 1 level and 1 condition. The condition is that if a license is exceeded then trigger the workflow. These products have licenses available, but sometimes it will require approval and sometimes it wont. When testing we are seeing back to back requests for the same software title where 1 will require an approval and 1 won't. The emails sent to the approvers will show licenses available for both requests. @CharlesW have you seen this before?

I have a customer whose production FNMS 2019 R2 system was stood up on 11/12/2020 since then over 24,600 remote devices have been created in the tool by the SMS adapter. Many of these remote devices do not have any applications associated with them and none of the remote devices get updated inventory after the first time it is created. So the remote devices that were created on 11/12 have a last inventory date of 11/12 and have no applications associated to them. What is the value of this data? At this rate by the end of 2021 there will be tens of thousands of remote devices that were created without any applications. These remote devices are being counted against our device CAL consumption which is causing major overages. Has anyone else encountered this scenario and have advice on managing it?

In our App Portal 2018 R1 instance we have applied two workflows to the same catalog item. When a user checks out this item the workflow is ignored and the email to the users states "No approval required". If I remove one of the workflows then the approval process kicks in. Based on this excerpt from the guide - " Multiple workflows applied to catalog item —When you apply more than one workflow to a catalog item, the conditions of the workflow as well as the steps within that workflow are evaluated." For multiple workflows to be evaluated does the workflow need conditions applied to it? The two workflows we have associated to the product do not have any conditions.

@AamerSharif I have the same issue at two different customers. On the app server the registry keys have default - empty, basedirectory, correct to the value above. On my standalone beacon server the key in that location has basedirectory set to empty. Every inventory to come through that beacon is sitting in the IntermediateData\Uploaded folder. Should this value be changed to C:\ProgramData\FlexeraSoftware\Beacon on the standalone beacon server? If this isnt resolved I am planning to write a cleanup script and set it on a weekly job.

I have a scenario that I believe is related to the differences between General and Software CIs. Some users are not showing up when attempting to perform a "Request on behalf" for a Software CI. When i check support tools they are not mapped to any computers, but they do show under a search for all users. When I checked FNMS they do not show as a calculated user on any devices. Is it a correct assumption that for a request on behalf to work for a software CI a user must be mapped to a computer based on the SCCM user and computer import?

@CharlesW Just to confirm. If I roll back to the hotfix for 2018 R1 "Has uninstall program" the field will show false regardless of the state of an uninstall package, but the reclamation campaign should successfully run?

@jdempsey @CharlesW I was hoping you could help with the following errors I'm receiving. I have installed the hotfix that Charles provided for the field "has uninstall program" and it solved that issue, but when the scheduled task runs to process alerts I get the errors in the enclosed text documents. Essentially it appears that enabling MSDTC - Network Access is a requirement on both the server and client sides for the MyApps feature to complete the uninstall process. I don't see this documented in the App Portal documentation. Is there any official documentation for this. I anticipate needing to provide vendor documentation to the security team before pushing this change organization wide. Additionally I'd like to know what exact settings of MSDTC need to be enabled i.e. client inbound/outbound, allow remote clients, allow remote administration, etc. Thanks in advance.
