Reassingn Site

How do we reassign a site to the clients?
We had all clients in one site, but we decided to split the clients into their deparments.
So when the client is installed the --group parameter is set to the site name.
When I look in the registry the correct site / groupname is saved, but in the webinterface the client still shows up under the old site.
We are using the latest agent 7.6.0.24.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @mminini

You should be able to reassign the sites using the registry, could you please follow the below:
Groupname appeared in singlehost agent after these steps:

1. Go to settings and check stop site update.

2. Added the group name in location Registry location “Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Secunia\CSI Agent”

3. Add the log location to generate csia agent service logs

- to create a agent service log, Add the log file in imagePath in the registry location Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Flexera Corporate Software Inspector Agent.

4. Restart Flexera Corporate Software Inspector Agent from services.msc and make sure in log file groupName should be the one which you have provided in step 2.

5. Wait for the completion of first scan. Check Single host scan for the scan result.

I added a couple of extra steps to add logging to review if the site does not change.

Kind Regards,
Steve

Sorry for the late reply.
I did all steps and the GroupName is listed in the log but the client still stays under the old SiteName.
Maybe we could have a call via Teams?

Hello @mminini ,

It may require to you delete the host from the smart group hosts and single host agent. Allow it to rescan on next scan schedule and observe the site name.

Kind regards,

James Ellis

I deleted the host from the smart group.
Under single host agent it wasn't found after I deleted it.
Lets wait and see what happens.
