I am trying to figure out a way of distributing Microsoft Office XP plus other MS Apps, to remote users on CD. I am struggling to lock down security so that users would not be able install the applications on any PC's. We are currently looking at doing that by updating the MSI's to check for a proprietary file before installing, but can not get a de-compiled / re-compiled version of any of the Office apps to install.
Does anybody have any similar experiences or needs ?

There are a varity of ways to accomplish this. Are your customers on a NT Domain (NT4/2000)?

We use Windows XP Client machines, with Windows 2000 servers using AD.
