If usage gathering is enabled for devices by turning on the "Allow application usage tracking on these targets" setting on a target in the web UI, then that will set the UseAddRemove preference to "TRUE" through the agent's policy if you are using FlexNet Manager Suite Cloud, or using FlexNet Manager Suite On-premises 2020 R2 or later on your application server.

@jdempsey, thank you for the suggestions! I think we will look at the first option: Allow approvers to accept requests. We actually do have a Check Status in Actions. Osa helped us set it up a couple years go when we first installed App Portal. But we hadn't thought of it using it in the manner you suggested below. Even the last one is a good suggestion. We had thought of something similar - we created a distribution list of just a few SAM members that would be grabbing tickets and only send the approval email to them rather than the entire team. We added that AD group as approvers via "User Groups" in the "Approval Groups" then applied that to a Workflow. We will definitely achieve what we want between all these ideas. Thanks!

Thanks Aamer for the reply and the information. Flexera helped us. We did not realize we needed to update the BeaconEngine.config on the old beacon and new beacon. Even after we did that we still had issues. We discovered that some of our clients are working (sending inventory successfully to our new beacon instance). So it is just some of our systems that are still reporting to the old FNMS server even though they have the new beacon information in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ManageSoft Corp\ManageSoft\Common\DownloadSettings\{6a31f65a-1df0-4ce2-a229-2e148fd36df2} key. It still had old information in this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ManageSoft Corp\ManageSoft\Common\DownloadSettings\BeaconServer We wrote a script to update the BeaconServer key and when we apply that, the clients start sending inventory to the new beacon. It was the same user each time. In SCCM, the user only has one "primary device". However, in App Portal he has "On Behalf of" rights. His test were one right after another so I don't think it was possible that the first 5 times, he only had one primary device and when requesting the 6th time, they had a second primary device. This setting is checked: under Site Management > Settings > Web Site > Catalog Behavior called "Allow users to request to SCCM primary devices". I don't think it is possible the above option was not checked the first 5 times the application was requested and checked the 6th. There are only a few of us that have permissions to do that and we were all on the call together. Yes, the request on behalf options are selected for the catalog item. He tested again today and the Target screen popped up every time. We are just trying to understand more about the Choose Target page. The Choose Target page should launch under these circumstances? If the user has more than one primary machine If the user has "on behalf" rights and that option is enabled on the catalog item Is there a way to turn off the Choose Target page even if the above are true?

That is an odd issue. I've not really ever had a need to embed a link to App Portal within a PowerPoint slide, but I tried it just now and was not able to reproduce the issue you describe.

Hi Joan, FNMS can't (so I'm aware, for the Cloud option) strip an App-V package and reconcile the Inventory within. No roadmap to address this either. FNMS can however, identify App-V evidence. The manual work around is to assign the App-V evidence to a known Application (ARL). Quite time consuming, i have to warn you. regards Richard

Thanks Kevin for the reply. The importer.log showed it processed the users, groups and members successfully. We just performed a Reconcile and checked "Update inventory for reconciliation" and now the users show up! Thank you! Joan
