Does anyone happen to know if FlexNet can map parent host information to Virtual Machines on Inventory Agents deployed within Oracle's Cloud Environment?

@davidle - At the present time, we only have integrations with Amazon and Azure to pull in Instance information. Additional adapters will be created in the future.

Hi David,
There are two pre-requisites that need to be meet to have Host-VM mapping to work.
If Oracle's Cloud Environment allow to inventory of both (host and vm) and virtualisation technology is one of the supported by FlexNet Manager Suite (VMWare, HyperV, OVM) it should work.
Usually public cloud service provider does not allow to inventory virtualisation host (running VM's) as it not available/exposed to consumers.

How about pulling Cloud Instance Information from Oracle's Cloud Environment? I understand that their is an Inventory Adapter for Microsoft Azure and I wanted to know if we are able to create that same type of adapter but for another service provider?

Physical Host information is not exposed in a public cloud infrastructure such as Oracle, AWS, Azure and Google.
This is why publishers such as Oracle, IBM and Microsoft publish separate rules on how to calculate capacity-based licenses for software running on a public cloud instance based on the number of virtual processors/virtual cores of the virtual instance in the cloud.
For example, the IBM PVU Point table indicates that 70 PVU Points are to be consumed for each virtual core for a server running in a public cloud.
