How to Install FlexNet Inventory Agent Automatically

Hi,

I am using FlexNet Manager Suite (Cloud).

If i have 1000 servers, and i want to install agent for those server.

Does Flexnet have a feature to download and install agent automatically for many servers ?

In addition to the adoption ("remote execution") based approach that @winvarma has noted, most organizations working at scale would deploy the agent software using their normal software deployment processes and tools.

Adoption seems a very resource intensive process. It requires FNMS to scan the network. Is there a way, using which If I feed in specific IP Addresses to FNMS, the appropriate agent gets pushed to only those IP Addresses?

Hi,

My customer with around 14.000 servers, use for example BSA BladeLogic to deploy the agents, and in enclosed environment GPO policy. My advice is to use your own infrastructure to deploy the agents.

Hi @flexeranoob ,

We generally leverage the existing tools like SCCM, IBM Big fix(for windows) and open source platforms for non windows agents deployment and also use automation scripts via GPO.
