Empty Hosts not shown in the report

Hello,

I am building a Custom Report for all Virtual Machines (with OS), Hosts (with COREs) within all Clusters across the environment.

However - Hosts that are sitting EMPTY, with no Virtual machines, will NOT show within the results when running the report.  These will require licensed.

I also tried building and exporting a Cluster, and Host list from Management view - but again no  joy of such a report

Can someone please advise how to build such report?

Many thanks in advance.

Laura

(1) Solution

@lboym_allstate  - You can create 1 custom report that only include Host information and the Cluster it belongs to without any VMs.  That way, all of your hosts are included in the report, whether or not they have VMs linked to them.

Your second report would include VMs and the Host they are linked to.

You would need to run both reports, export the data and then merge the reports together to get the information that you require.

A bit cumbersome, but that should work.
