Connection reset by Peer error while beacon communication

Hi All,

I can see that some target machines were trying to reach to a Beacon server which has port open already(verified by doing telnet) and getting an error as Connection reset by peer.

I dont understand whats wrong, as the Beacon local web server config is set to IIS and HTTPS.

The only difference I see is that the IIS logs are not generating. which looks something fishy!

Logging is enabled and the IIS is also in running state.

Please help.

Regards,

Srikanth Mallampati

The Beacon connection is attempted to https://<your beacon server>/ManagesoftRL.

Have you checked whether this is responding? Open a browser from one of the target machines having an issue and enter this URL:

https://<your  beacon server>/ManagesoftRL/Test.

If the Beacon is working properly, you should see "Test succeeded" in the browser.

Have you also checked the Beacon logs (Beacon Engine, BeaconIIS)?

Since I have the same error, and the solution in the other thread (https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Manager-Forum/Scan-file-upload-failing/td-p/125709) did not help, I would like to share my experience here.

In our case, the error was due to the fact that not only the SSL certificate of the beacon had expired, but additionally an assigned certificate was missing in the IIS bindings. A new certificate had to be provided, and assigned in IIS in the bindings for https.

Attached here just for the sake of completeness.

Hi

Can you share tracker.log from agent machine. also share TLS setting status in server if server are windows & below 2012 version.
