Repackage an InstallShield based MSI

Has anyone ever in the history of adminstudio actually had repackager convert an installshield setup.exe into a basic MSI? Every single time I try I end up with an MSI with nothing in it. Tried dozens of different ones over the years, it never works.

I've done it many times. Are you capturing on a clean machine?

Thanks for the response, I use it with vmware and our base image with not much more than XP installed. I could try it with a base XP install and see if it makes a difference. I've been using adminstudio since 7.5 and I'm not exaggerating when I say I have never seen it work.

Well, I'm not going to say repackaging is pretty, but it can work. Here's my observations from a really, really long time ago:

BTW, you know you aren't supposed to repackage an MSI, right?
