Packaging with App-V 5 and Admin Studion 2013

Since AES 2013 does not support app-v 5 packaging on windows 7 (only on windows 8 and server 2012), what is the course of action to support App-V 5 on windows 7 with AES?

Important: In AdminStudio 2013, the App-V 5.x with AdminStudio option is only available when AdminStudio is installed on a Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 operating system.

In order to use the "App-V 5.x with AdminStudio" option, you'll need to install AdminStudio on Windows 8/Server 2012. You could always RDP to that system from a Windows 7 or XP machine, so unless it just isn't possible to set up a Windows 8/Server 2012 machine I don't think it will be too inconvenient. It won't have any impact on your captures because you'd be using the AAC or Remote Repackager or Standalone Repackager anyways. Nobody should be performing captures directly on their AdminStudio machine.

Hi,

You can try to use the AAC with Sequencer option --> http://helpnet.flexerasoftware.com/adminstudio2013/adminstudio_CSH.htm#ashelplibrary/Vam_SelAppVConvMethod.htm.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!
I heard there was going to be a patch to resolve this issue. Any ETA for this?

Sorry, but I haven't heard anything about when a resolution (other than setting up a Windows 8/2012 machine) will be available. I'll be sure to post here when something is available.
