Installing AdminStudio 3.5 on Windows 2003 Server

I want to be able to install AdminStudio 3.5 on Windows 2003 Server however I get an error during the install that says it cannot install MDAC 2.6 on Windows 2003. What can I do? Do I just need to install a newer version or should I already have a newer version?

Yes, since ISAS 3.5 was packaged quite a bit before Windows 2003 it is possible that there are older components included which will conflict with newer versions on the new OS.

Have you tried using a transform on the ISAS 3.5 package?

The easiest route to take is upgrading to the new version of AdminStudio is 5.5, http://www.installshield.com/products/adminstudio/. As seen in the Specification document, http://www.installshield.com/products/adminstudio/info/specifications.asp, Windows 2003 is explicitly mentioned.

Oh yes, the easiest thing is to upgrade. How many of us can afford to keep shelling out £2000 each time we need to upgrade. I can't.

How about getting it fixed?
