@AamerSharif: we have a customer using FNMS 2020R1 on-premises and are in the progress of making FlexNet agent as a primary source of inventory. Same time they do have SCCM inventory source.
The client is using the App-V client instead of the SCCM end-point for the deployment of the software package. There is no XenApp/XenDesktop service & AppVMgmtSvr service connected with this App-V client. As I mentioned earlier, they are using the App-V client as an alternate to the SCCM end-point for technical reasons.
Here is the background of issue and question
App-V client is installed on all the client/end-user devices for deployment and patching. FlexNet Agent is also installed on the client/end-user device to discover and inventory the HW & SW.
The customer is saying that they are unable to see the App-V client on the installed applications on the specified device.
Are there any limitations or issues to discover/inventory the App-V client in the above-mentioned situation?

@kclausen: Do you have a document or reference notes, as the client wants Flexera agents to connect the Beacon server with authentication using client/end device level certificates. The following message is from the client. "The Agent needs to understand Client Authentication certificates and be able to use such a certificate in the Windows certificate store. Also, the FNMS endpoint service must be able to verify such a certificate once an agent presents it as the basis for authentication – including the trust with the Client company PKI/CA"

@kclausen I have questions related to importing application usage information from the Citrix – XenApp environment. From the above design, I assume and understand the following, please correct me if my understanding is wrong In general, XenApp Server will have all the HW and SW inventory information from all the VDI including the user information. Additionally, it has got a separate or different source that stores the application usage information of all the applications either by the HW or User reference. To import the application usage information, do we have to connect to the XenDesktop DB? For this, do we need an account/ID with reading permission on the specified DB? Is there any firewall port opening requirement? With the XenDesktop DB connection string, we have to create a connection in the FlexNet Beacon to import it, like below 5. Once the connection is successful and data is imported, does it automatically upload it to the FNMS APP or DB? Or do we need to create additional connections like below to upload the data to FNMS Compliance DB staging?

@AFinlay: not sure whether you already got the answer to your question. Based on the "FNMSInvAdaptersAndConnectorsReference", I don't think we can directly import the data into the FNMS cloud without a staging database. In the on-premise implementation, it can be done.

@sunilkumar: To be sure and clear my confusion, as you mentioned "The FNMS upgrade would still have completed. The next ARL version which is going to be released this week would address the issue and upgrades should no longer give this error." Even though the FNMS DB upgrade shows an error, it would have been completed successfully? Can I continue on the Inventory & DataWarehouse DB upgrade? Or do need to wait until next week for the new ARL version to be released to fix this issue?

Hi @bheadley, thanks for pointing the exact line. I will request the client to update the Technopedia.xml and try it. Sorry, I did not notice it is for MySQL. We are using Microsoft SQL not MySQL for the FNMS solution. On the case sensitivity query, please refer to the following screenshot. It looks like the collation setting matches as per the FNMS system requirement.

@ChrisG : I tried the following and found that the lower case query is failing arl_mapped_product_lower_case arl_mapped_product_lower_case ARL_MAPPED_PRODUCT_UPPER_CASE ARL_MAPPED_PRODUCT_UPPER_CASE For testing, I tried on my test machine with the same FNMS version, even the lower case is successfully showing the table and the fields.
