Changes in PVU per Core Values

I've observed some increases in consumption of several IBM PVU licenses that I have set up. The root cause from what I can tell is an increase in the PVU per Core value for several VM Hosts (either from 70 to 100, or 100 to 120). From what I can tell, it appears to be isolated to VM Hosts of AIX VMs (LPARs).

Is anyone aware of a change that IBM made to the PVU per Core factor for these types of hosts? Can Flexera confirm my observations? Has anyone else seen this in their environment?

Acknowledging the unintended impact on existing PVU licenses from Feb 24th release of SKU/PURL/Bundle and ARL.

A fix has been released via last Friday release. Please update to latest ARL version 2732 to see the changes. A separate post announcing these fixes is here - https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Manager-Content-Blog/IBM-PVU-point-rule-updates/ba-p/269135

Hello @WStephans

Could you try to include the details of license & what application of IBM PVU license you observed? any SKU number associated if the license is created via PO?

Any change causes client license consumption change should be communicated clearly by Flexera so I would also love to hear if anyone from Flexera can clarify whether there is any change recently in this area lately.

Such Core & Points Rule value setting is delivered by ARL updates. I wasn't aware any Content release announcement mentioned that , the recent IBM change is https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Manager-Content-Blog/Content-Change-Notification-IBM-Product-Name-Change-and/ba-p/265918/jump-to/first-unread-message

Hope we can get some clarification soon.

Best Regards

Kev

@Big_Kev  - I've noticed it on several different IBM PVU licenses for all different types of applications. It does not appear to be specific to any application or product.

Checking the system this morning, all of the PVU per core changes I had noticed have reverted back to their original value. For example, VM Hosts that were originally 70 PVU per Core, temporarily went to 100 PVU per Core, but are now back to 70 PVU per Core. There is nothing on the History tab of the VM Host inventory record that would suggest why this value would have changed (no change in processors or cores).

So I guess the issue has resolved itself, but I would still like to know the root cause if we are to see this again.

As a follow up, I spoke to colleagues who work in other Flexera One environments and they had the same observation: temporary increase in PVU per Core, only for AIX VM Hosts, that have reverted to original value over the weekend.

Nice one @RamyaJagadeesh  Thank you for helping the confirmation as Flexera representative there was some changes.  I must have overlooked the original update post in general ARL/SKU post...but I see you have created a standalone content change post in https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Manager-Content-Blog/IBM-PVU-point-rule-updates/bc-p/269188#M580

Nice work !  and hope it helps to you @WStephans

Cheers
