Hi Community and Flexera team. Has anyone in the community, reseller or customer, actually been engaged by Oracle for Java licensing as yet. I understand that they have only recently finalized the commercial model and are now starting to contact customers to acquire licensing. Would appreciate any sharing of information regards the interaction and the Flexera configuration. Regards,

Hi. He only needs admin rights to download the lms archive.zip. To export the instance view he would just need read rights to the view Blue Turtle Technologies (Pty) Limited | Reg. no.: 2003/002610/07 | http://www.blueturtle.co.za Gauteng : Tel: +27 (0)11 206 5600 | Fax: +27 (0)86 208 0237 | Block E, Midridge Office Estate South, International Business Gateway Park, Cnr New and Sixth road, Midrand, 1685 | P O Box 31331, Kyalami, 1684 Western Cape: Tel: +27 (0)21 741 0939 | Fax: +27 (0)21 552 7764 | BG01, Roma House, The Forum, Northbank Lane, Century City, 7446 DISCLAIMER: This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and are intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. HI @marcog The view only role will suffice. If you want only the Oracle instances then under inventory devices, allow access to "list inventory devices". User will need to be in admin group to download the LMS output. Regards,

Hi Bogdan. Please clarify the user license consumption that you want to see. If a user is using SQL on a server, then that user does indeed need a server CAL as well as a SQL CAL if you are using SQL in CAL mode not processor or core mode. Regards,

HI. The LMS evidence shows 4 processors; The FNMS inventory shows 4 Processors. So that appears to be answered too.

HI @gotqcorp , I believe your question is answered in my first reply: --- From the provided files I see each server as a Sun Fire V490 Server with 4 processors. So the real question is: What is the core factor for these servers? I read them as UltraSPARC IV processors, which have a 0.75 core factor. 4*0.75 = 3 Oracle processors required for each server. Check that with the Oracle core factor table. What is FNMS calculating? --- I see that FNMS is calculating 3 Oracle processors per device. QED. Not sure what else you are trying to figure out. The reason you have FNMS is so that you do not need to know the details for each hardware type and work out the consumption manually. Regards, Nico

Tx. In the DBEE license show the cores, the processors and the host Acct1 with its instances - you can redact in your snipping tool as we do not need the instance details

c aHI @dirk_schumache I understand this to be a known issue. I raised it in respect of 19c and was informed that it was a known gap in the ARL at the time. I raised it 5 June and was informed it would have been remediated by 19 June. I mapped the evidence manually while awaiting the ARL update. Regards,

Hi. The rules to licensing reside more with the vendors - ie Microsoft license Desktop OS's by Device, USer, or named user with the M365 licenses. Else, if you have the sku, you can use that to create the license and it will create with the correct or appropriate license type. Suggest you review the training in the portal and consult with others in your organisation. Regards

Hi @indahnurapriani How long have you worked on FNMS? And how long has your business had FNMS? What is your role with FNMS? The situation you describe sounds like you have access to a lab system. That said. Start with having a device license type. Then ensure your one device is reporting processor and core information. Regards,

Hi @sushantnarula94 Yes, two devices in the system will both consume licenses, so ideally you want to remove/ignore the duplicate. removal will only work if the device does not still exist in teh source. From your situation described, I would be concerned about why the SCCM data is so old. That should be investigated. You can always mark the ignored devices as active should you resolve the inventory issue. Regards
