Summary
This article describes the behavior seen when FlexNet Inventory Agent inventory information is overwritten by SCCM inventory due to the inventory date. This behavior was quantified as a bug in FNMS-24748
Symptoms
If a FlexNet Manager Suite system has "FlexNet Manager Suite" as the primary inventory source and "SCCM" as the secondary inventory source and the inventory date from the SCCM source is newer than that of the FlexNet Manager Suite source, the inventory agent in the "ComplianceComputer" table and GUI will show the inventory source as "SCCM" rather than "FlexNet Manager Suite". This causes problems when using the FlexNet Inventory Agent as an inventory source for IBM PVU scanning as the peak usage count is recorded using the full capacity calculations based on the SCCM inventory rather than the sub-capacity calculations based on the FlexNet Inventory Agent inventory information.
Resolution
This behavior is caused by a known bug identified in FNMS-24748. An updated Computer.xml is attached for FlexNet Manager Suite 2015 R2 SP5. Please ensure you back up the original Computer.xml before implementing the attached version.
