Hi Everyone!!!

I am trying to make a connection to an oracle database to extract some data.

I have downloaded the Oracle Provider for OLE DB needed to make this connection.

The client has provided the information to put in the tnsnames.ora which is already in the file.

But when testing the connection I get the error message ora-12504.

I am a bit lost on this subject

Doing a quick Google Search on that Oracle error code finds many results all saying that this error means that the TNSNAMES.ORA is missing the SID or Service Name.

A much easier approach to gather Oracle Database/Option Pack inventory is to use the Flexera Agent.
