Is it possible for the FlexNet Agent to automatically gather database instance names?

Title says it all. Talking either Oracle or SQL.

(1) Solution

Adam, for Oracle the answer is yes.  For a licensing model, we have to introspect each DB Instance to see what Option Packs are installed and if they are used or not.  You can see the list of each DB Instance Name on a sever on the Oracle Inventory View.

We do not capture Instance Names for SQL Server because there is no need for this information from a licensing perspective.  SQL Server is licensed at the OS Level, and you can have as many database instances as you want.
