Asset - Pre Define a Drop Down Choice

We want to specify a dropdown selection when we creating a new device asset (Laptop/Mobile Device / Workstation/Server.

Is that possible?

Similar to how it is set at Standard Field: Status: to "Purchased"

It's a Custom Dropdown Menü and when we creat a new asset then we want pre select "ring 4".

Later the user should be able to change it again, but it should not be forgotten.

@romanmensch  - This functionality is not possible today.  When you create a Custom Field with a list of values to select from, the Custom Field is blank until a value is selected from the list.  A default selection cannot be defined.

A few thoughts...

- the process of creating new assets is no longer done via the FNMS WebUI, but with the help of a business adapter, which gets the appropriate data e.g. from an XLS. Within the adapter all necessary fields can be preconfigured

- You could define an "On Create/Update" trigger on the corresponding table, which fills the custom field for each new asset ... but I would advise against it, because you can't track these changes in the system in any log ...
