ARL/SKU/PURL Update Failed

Hell All,

Facing issue with the ARL/SKU/PURL Update.

Below is the error.

[.RecognitionImportTool] [ERROR] Could not extract C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\FlexNet Manager Platform\DataImport\Content\SKU

[.RecognitionImportTool] [ERROR] Failed to verify the digital signature of the file 'C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\FlexNet Manager Platform\DataImport\Content\SKU\5a2b2db0da6a425cbf50e2ee16e33591-PURL-Microsoft.cab'.

Is there any other apart from Manual import?

Some common causes of an error like this are:

  1. The digital signature used on the ARL/SKU/PURL cab files is not trusted by the server. The following article provides some tips on how to verify that: Digital Signature upgrade for loading Content libraries
  2. A web proxy is returns different content (such as an HTML page) instead of the CAB file content downloaded from the Internet. To verify, try to open the 'C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\FlexNet Manager Platform\DataImport\Content\SKU\5a2b2db0da6a425cbf50e2ee16e33591-PURL-Microsoft.cab' file in Windows Explorer and see if it can be opened, or even open it in (say) notepad to see if it looks like real compressed content.
  3. A web proxy is terminating the download of large files before they are finished, but no error code is detected by the library update process.

  1. I have verified the digital signature it's look good for PURL.cab & RecognitionAfter82.cab 
  2. I have tried to open the 'C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\FlexNet Manager Platform\DataImport\Content\SKU\5a2b2db0da6a425cbf50e2ee16e33591-PURL-Microsoft.cab' file but it showing error "Cannot open the cabinet file".
  3. I guess files are getting downloaded correctly. Below are the logs.

@ChrisG Will you please have look on the reply. 

@AjaykumarPatil - What is the file size of your downloaded PURL.cab file?  It should be close to 908,794 KB.

If your downloaded file is smaller, it means that the file is not getting downloaded correctly through your internal network and firewalls.

I have tried to run "Recognition data import" task manually before 2 hours of reconciliation time so it was successful.

The same way tried to run "Recognition data import" task after reconciliation time it also working.

I doubt there is some issue happing if ARL update time and reconciliation time are conflicting. 

We can make sure that ARL update time must be before 2 hours of reconciliation time or after completion of reconciliation time. 

 

I am having a similar issue, how did you resolve this on your end?

@bdavey There might be different issues.

1. Certificate could be missing. Please follow the steps to add a certificate it resolves the issue.

2. Check if the ARL Purl files are getting downloaded completely, sometimes it won't completely downloaded due to ti a network issue. Please check that.

I already attempted the cert fix and it did not appear to work.  I opened a case and will see what could be the cause.  Thank you for responding.

Hi,

I am seeing the same at a customer's 2 environments. File sizes look ok at first glance, but comparing them to another system reveals that 2 have not been downloaded completely. 6 of 8 cab files can be opended, 2 cannot. Of course, these two break the whole import process. Certifcates are ok, I checked the serial numbers and hashes. Interestingly, the ARL Import in the System Task view does not seem to report an error.

I also checked the importPURL.log and found the download speeds to be terrible, for example Adobe PURL with ~55MB took > 42 minutes. Could be kind of a timeout issue, but then again the PURL.cab with nearly 1GB works just fine.

My comparisson system shows similar download times, so this might be limited by the file server. Can someone confirm this? By the way, these are all systems in Europe.

Hi Mfranz,

I do not have any issues with download times, last night it completed very quickly. Validated it with several customers and all are the same. In the past I had long wait ARL Download periods for some customers but after a week it solved itself.

I did a  double check on my local test environment and download times were about what you posted. So the issue seems related to our corporate network configuration, same for the customer.
