I'm will be repackaging a few software installs for Windows XP machines.

I'm would like the final software packages to be compatible with both Windows XP SP1a and Windows XP SP2.

Would it be better to have the reference machine SP1a or SP2? Has anyone come across any issues with SP2.

Testing is the key to making sure things work on both platforms. I would repackage with SP1A and test on both versions. Don't think you'll run in to much problems (maybe firewall) since most files replaced by SP2 are under SFP anyway.

If you own AdminStudio Pro you may want to use OS Snapshots to conflict-check the application on both platforms.
