I understand that Installshield has a sample template that I can use to create a template that I can use on all my installs. Can anybody help me as to how I can get to it?

Which template are you referring to? Installation project template or Adminstudio workflow template?

In Developer, a new Basic MSI project can be considered an excellent starting point for a template. It has all the necessary entries. After you have completed making changes to the project, save, and this project is available for reference in the Repackager IDE as a custom template.

You should find templates under [PROGRAMFILESFOLDER]InstallShield\AdminStudio\5.0\Repackager folder. For repackaging IsProjBlankTpl.ism is used by default.

I tried opening a template and I received a following message.

Installshield could not open a file. Please contact installshield.

Anyway I can down load this file?
