AdminStudio SMS Edition

we see this product at http://www.installshield.com/products/adminstudio/sms/default.asp however nobody at InstallShield we spoke knows how to get the SMS edition. What are the base licenses needed to run this program? And how is the program received?

The SMS edition is distributed by Microsoft:

You will need to have an SMS 2003 site server that the install will connect to and validate the existance of SMS infrastructure. It will then go to the InstallShield website and generate a product license dynamically for you.

I have the SMS edition but I don't use it since we already bought AdminStudio. If you havn't purchased anything yet I'd get the SMS edition so that you can have the repackager but then go buy InstallShield 11 ( Not AdminStudio ) so that you can have the Editor and the Multiplatform products.

After I installed AdminStudio - SMS edition, it asked to verify my SMS instance. I have SMS up and running, but when it tries to verify the SMS site, it comes back with “Unable to connect to SMS Server”.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

I have a clean machine on a dev domain ( no trust to the production domain ) and I'm loading AS6 SMS edition on. I'll see if I can give you some insite in a minute or two.
