InstallAnywhere only removes files created by itself. Created files are stored on its registry file (AFAIK) and deleted on uninstall. Thus if your application creates files after the installation, they will not be deleted by default. What can be done is to use the checkbox "Recursively delete all content of this folder during uninstall" (checkbox on action "create folder") Then if you have files created by your application in the root folder, you will have to delete them using action or scripts in the uninstall phase. Other assumption is that the files are not deleted because in use while uninstall proceeds (windows) --Jerome

Hi, If your issue is only retrieving installer return code in testing silent mode, you can simply call your executable from inside a batch file ... that way, the script will only exits after the installer exits. Regards Jerome

Hello, I am about to upgrade to IA 2013 but I'd like to get more details about IOA-000077594 issue. ------------------- IOA-000077594 If a project contains multiple build configurations with different build targets, building some of the build targets through the command line with an Ant task or a properties file may lead to unexpected results, wherein build targets from the other build configurations in the project are built, along with the specified build targets. ------------------- My project has multiple build configurations (built through ANT) but each build configuration has only one build target (one different for each build configuration). I am using properties file which only contains build configuration name (build target is not specified there but in my project) Question: Am I concerned by this known issue? Then if yes, when will it be fixed? Thanks in advance --Jerome

For the record, the java issue is http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=7147075 This will be fixed far far away in JRE/JDK 8 ... Edit: Hum, they will hopefully backport it in 1.7u40 --Jerome

Hi, The 32 bit or 64 bit installer is made based on the embedded/selected java version included. If you are using bundled vm, then you have to create 1 build configuration for each (win32 + win64 + lin32...etc). => Set unique "Target Name/output folder" for each. Then each build configuration should use the bundle corresponding to the required architecture. NB: Be sure to have the checkbox "Add to project build checked". If your project is quite heavy, I'll also suggest to create build tags ('Project/Advanced') and create a tag for each created build configuration (build/tag tab). --Jerome

Strange, can you verify that you do not have any rule or tag that may prevent the script to be ran on that 64 bit host? Also adding cscript without argument is useless (AFAIK), you can simply put the script name in the action "foo.wsf". You should set debug traces if it still does not help. Also you can access the script from temp location (INSTALLER_TEMP_DIR) (if exists) and try to execute it manually. my 2 cents... --Jerome

I do not think there is this functionality in installanywhere but you can implement it by yourself I guess (via command line) - Export registry to .reg file (kind of backup file) - Import your .reg file If the import fails then rollback by restoring the first .reg file and/or do this in the InstallAnywhere rollback phase by default --Jerome

>In the install phase, I create folder $Magic_folder_3$ Maybe this is the mistake!! Do not create the folder ... put/create your shortcut (install phase) in the root of installation dir (purple folder icon!!!) Then modify you shortcut path to be in the folder of your choice ( 'All users Programs Menu' ) => This will automagically create a new purple folder icon (if none exist yet) for the path you selected and move shortcut in it. Then under this new purple folder icon, you can create a directory and move your shortcut under it. Hope it will help --Jerome

Sorry about the -Dlax.locales=all setting confusion ... I thought you already had it set because I remembered (maybe I'm wrong) that it was mandatory when using Asian languages.... So I was just telling you that maybe a java variable set in "UI/Project/JVM settings/Additional arguments" field would be able to get the local language pre-defined (but I doubt this is possible). Let's hope someone else have better answer (I am pretty sure there are already some post about this in this forum) --Jerome

Hi, Unfortunately, I do not come with the answer ... (As far as I know, this is not possible ...) Selecting language from command line argument can be done with '-l' option -l [_OPTIONAL_COUNTRY_CODE] e.g. install.exe -l zh_CN => this link so maybe you can get the OS local though a variable and put it in the UI/Project/JVM settings/Additional arguments (where you most probably put the "-Dlax.locales=all" for japanese ) But I'm not sure you can get variable resolved there ... nor that it can be helpful for what you want to do. The $INSTALLER_LOCALE$ variable is read only so you cannot force it. --Jerome --Jerome

I am not understanding => "the field after the choice box contains '7' and can't be edited" Can you please post a screen shot of this ? On the install part, your shortcut should be under "Magic folder: All users programs Menu", then you should be able to create a new folder and put your shortcut there. --Jerome

> option where I can store a registry value I did not understood if you wanted to read a value in registry and store it in a variable or if you want to write into the registry. (NB: I am talking about windows registry) You can get windows registry entry by using action "Get Windows Registry Entry". You can write to windows registry by using general action "Set Windows Registry..." => This action is not available in all mode. At least it is in install phase. --Jerome

I've seen similar issue when JRE was upgraded to 1.7. Is it your case in your new installer? The behavior only occurs in X window. --Jerome
