@Ralph_Crowley there’s nothing on the roadmap right now that would take us in that direction, but we’re going to be launching an ideas portal pretty soon and this sounds like a good one to place there to get additional feedback and thoughts from others.
@fstewart2 there is quite a bit of coverage on how we’re bringing together the data platform and FNMS in the roadmap presentation, including normalization and content. If you’ve already seen that and have further questions, please shout.
@Silindile if you are still having trouble let me know. I’m sure we can find a way to get you access to it - or just get a session setup to walk you through it directly.
All, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I’ve had some trouble with my notifications getting to the right place. Fixed now!

Hi Jrobs3, I think I understand what you're asking, but I want to turn it upside down and ask why it is in your favor to retire licenses... If compliance is your key focus, I think retiring licenses and having only keeping your most current offerings will simplify the picture. You will likely pay for more than you need, but things will be simple and straightforward. However, if optimization is your key focus, it is an advantage to have all the older licenses in the system - and still consuming where they apply - so you are not re-buying licenses at current rates when you have perfectly good ones on the shelf already. I can understand retiring applications, devices, etc. through decommissions or upgrades. But if you have perpetual licenses that do match existing installations, even if those licenses are somewhat under-consumed, do you really want to remove them from the pool of software assets? Maybe it would be better to find a way to call them out in reports, like adding a suffix to the license name, e.g., "Microsoft Visio 2003 [RETIRED]"? Regards, Matt

Hi Eric, I see this was a long time ago, but I hope you filed a support ticket (support.flexerasoftware.com). That is the way to get help with errors like this. Regards, Matt

If you don't already have licenses set up in FNMS, the quickest approach is just to import the MLS straight into the system using the MLS import on the purchase import page. It will automatically create licenses and link the summary entitlement details. You can get there using the one-off uploads in the data inputs menu. Regards, Matt

Mike, For bundling information, you'll have to review the IBM LIDs. To implement that in FNMS, there are a couple of strategies for managing bundles today, such as using allocations and exemptions. Matt

Hi Cary, Within the UI, navigate to the IBM PVU scanning section of the Discovery and Inventory settings. The online help provides good documentation on how to configure the system in accordance with IBM's terms for subcapacity reporting. You can access this help by clicking the little question mark in the upper right hand corner of the screen while you're on this page. HTH -Matt

Hi Gaurav, Where editions are reported as "unknown" or "unspecified" it is usually because there is software inventory for a device, but no Oracle inventory. Oracle inventory is required to recognize the edition, so until that is available the "unspecified" editions alert you to likely databases that need to be scanned. Regards, Matt

Hi Mike, Oracle very infrequently uses SKUs. But if you do have them, they'll be in your ordering documents like purchase orders and contracts. Regards, Matt
