This article covers the enhancement around Solaris Zones support.
Symptoms
We are trying to determine what Oracle CPU licence count is required on a virtual Solaris server which has just been access to a restricted shared CPU pool.
The Solaris server has the agent installed and an Oracle DB user account created for FNMS to allow Oracle Data Gathering. the Server has been added to the Oracle Data Gathering Rule which runs daily.
The agent is reporting into FNMS, but no software inventory is reported (the applications tab is empty). I would have expected Sun Solaris 5.10 to be seen as a minimum from the OS. But nothing is showing.
Resolution
There is an enhancement that is being tracked under FNMS-21683 to support Solaris Zones that has now been addressed in FlexNet Manager Suite 2017 R1.
