Recommended asset link question

Hello - 

I understand that Flexera will attempt to link asset records when the serial numbers match. 

However, for when it is not linked, but has a recommended asset link, is there a reason why a device that matches both name + serial not auto link?

• Device Name matches Asset Name
• Serial numbers match

(Still showing as recommended.)

I am assuming it may have to do with inventory status. For example, we have a case where the inventory device was set to Ignored. The recommended asset has an active status. Would Flexera not attempt to link an asset to an ignored record? Logically that kind of makes sense as it would kick that inventory device back over to Active status.

One of the requirements for linking is that the asset exists before the inventory device is created. If the inventory device already exists you will only see a recommendation.
