Minimum FNMS Release Required to Collect EC2 Instance ID as Part of Inventory?

Hi all ...

What is the minimum release of FNMS (and its agent) that supports the collection of the AWS EC2 Instance ID as part of agent inventory? Is it FNMS 2022 R1?

(1) Solution

The first version of the Amazon AWS EC2 Cloud Service adapter has been released as early as FNMS 2018 R2 😁.

Doesn't the inventory agent pick up the EC2 Instance ID without the need for the Amazon AWS EC2 Cloud Service adapter?

@mfeinman  - Yes.  The agent queries the Instance MetaData Service (v1 or v2) to pull the Instance ID.  We do not use the AWS adapter in our environment but we do get the Instance ID from nearly all agents.  I say "nearly" because there seems to be a problem with agents lower than v20.3 if you have forced IMDSv2 and disabled IMDSv1.
