ManageSoftRET$ and mgsRET$ Network Shares

Good day

Are these shares ManageSoftRET$ and mgsRET$ required by FNMS? If so how would we change the permissions to "authentciated users".

Your assistance is much appreciated.

regards

M

Hello @iammanzi,

The ManageSoftRET$ and mgsRET$ shares are used to carry out remote execution and adoption tasks. See https://docs.flexera.com/FlexNetManagerSuite2019R2/EN/WebHelp/PDF%20Documents/On-Prem/GatheringFlexNetInventory.pdf - 'Zero footprint: Normal Operation'

I believe that you could change the permissions under Computer Management > System Tools > Shared Folders > Shares

However, if you actively use remote execution in your environment, then I wouldn't recommend amending the default permissions set by the installation.

HTH,

Joseph
