Is there any documentation about OracleVM?

Hi,

Is there any information about using OracleVM with Flexera Manager ?

Thank you

(1) Solution

The process for OracleVM is very similar to VMware vCenter as it connects to an Oracle VM Hypervisor via an API to pull the Host information and then maps the Guest VMs to the Host.

1) Make sure that you have inventory for each Oracle Virtual Machine under an Oracle VM Hypervisor.  This can be from 3rd-party inventory or the FlexNet Manager Agent

1) Create an Action to Discover/Inventory Oracle VM

2) Create a Target of the Oracle VM Hosts that you want to inventory, such as with a specific IP Address

3) On the Inventory Beacon, go into the Password Manager and enter a Logon/Password to connect to the Oracle VM Hypervisor API.  This will need to be an Oracle VM Admin Account, as there are no other User Roles that can connect to an Oracle VM Hypervisor

4) Create an Inventory Rule for the Action and Target.  Let the policy get downloaded to the appropriate beacons and run the Rule.

Yes, refer to your Flex version "gatheringFlexInventory.pdf" and the Oracle Practice Guide to start.

Hi,

Thank you for your contribution, but the information is very short, i must need to know if it is necessary any admin user or what permission must have to collect all the information.

Thank you
