Hi There, is anyone aware of where I can look up the Agent Compatibility with the various Operating Systems of older agents. I know that the "Flexnet Manager Suite - System Requirements" document contains the details for that specific version but I can only see the most recent Version for 2019 in the Documentation area and not sure if I do find the older versions, if they have been updated.
Our packaging teams are beginning to create Base Builds for RHEL 8 (Redhat Enterprise Linux 😎 and have asked me if our current Agent which is Version 2016 12.1.0 is compatible with RHEL 8.
Thanks as Always
Bruce

Search JAVA in the FlexNet Managers Blog. The Linux current client is backwardly compatible even if it is a higher version than your installation. You need it to deal with Oracle Java in a Linux environment.

Hi Everyone, I submitted a Case and have received an update as follows ....
The 12.1.0 agent officially supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (x86-64 only): https://helpnet.flexerasoftware.com/fnms2016r1sp1/onpremises/FlexNet%20Manager%20Suite%20Release%20Notes%202016%20R1%20SP1%20(English).pdf
Support for RHEL 8 was added in 2019 R1 (13.2).
The 12.1 agent may work with RHEL 8, but it is untested and if you were to experience issues, we would ask you to upgrade to a supported version (13.2 or later).

@bruce_giles if you pm me the ticket number I can see if i can get engineering to get test confirmation this version if you prefer?
it may take a while but they should be able to run it through the automated testing procedures for confirmation of the compatibility

I came across some additional info today that may be useful in relation to this topic,
I just had a chat with the engineers and they mentioned that the 2019r2 agent will be compatible with 2019r1 however the fnms auto-deployment will need to be disabled (Upgrade mode: Do not upgrade automatically) to prevent an auto-downgrade of the agent, that will also mean you will need to deploy this using an alternate method for the new osx devices if you used the fnms auto-deployment previously.
please see attatched screenshot, this is from the inventory settings menu in fnms
The context is I had a customer that wanted to install the agent on OSX Catalina, but we will not be supporting that platform until FNMS2019r2 releases (which is about a week away as of time of writing)
They wanted to know if this also required their FNMS2019r1 to be upgraded which is no, However the FNMS auto-upgrader will need to be disabled else the 2019r1 version of fnms will end up removing the fnms2019r2 agents and installing the 2019r1 ones instead
Thought it may be useful to keep in mind when installing newer agents running on older fnms platforms

@smithclarkson01 Helpnet is your best resource, check out the release notes for each particular version of FNMS:
