We had success inventorying VMC the same way FNMS is able to inventory an on-prem vCenter. In our particular situation, we had to manually create a Discovery Record for the devices, and ensure the flag for "This device is a virtualization host or management server." was checked under Discovered Device Properties > Advanced. Then ensure your beacon is assigned the proper subnet to be able to inventory it (along with credentials and permission, etc.) and we were able to successfully target and inventory the devices in VMC using Discovery and Inventory Rules for VMware infrastructure.
It's not a supported integration as it was never tested by Flexera's engineering team...
It may still be working if VMware Cloud can be interacted with similarly to the way the beacon leverages the VMware SDK available in vCenter. So if you're going to test it then please inform the community members of your findings.
