When creating a contract you can select a contract type. Some of them are publisher specific.
I was wondering if these are software models and use rights & rules for that specific contract of the publisher automatically filled in? Or do you need to fill in manually those use rights & rules ?
Best regards, Frank

Hello,
Product use rights are generally defined with the license object, but licenses do inherit information from contracts they are linked to. This can be contract periods (for the linked maintenance), bespoke use rights and a few other things.
Have a look at this Online Help topic (available through Flexera Helpnet):
Contract license consumption rules
https://helpnet.flexerasoftware.com/fnms/EN/WebHelp/index.html#topics/ContractProp-ConsumptionRules.html
The specific contract types offer a way to easily set up these common master agreements, while the purchase programs with the generic types are just there for your reference. Explore this area of the help system:

Hi Frank,
As far as I know, these details need to be filled in manually. I am by no means a licensing expert, but I think there are aguments for not automating this part.
At the same time one would find as many arguments for automation. After talking to a colleague, I believe there was functionality like this in the past, but I am not sure about it.
Best regards,
Markward
