Server in place upgrades

Our servers are currently on Windows 2012 R2 and our server admins are looking to do an in place upgrade to 2016 or 2019.  They are concentrating first on the application servers and at a later date upgrading the database servers.

Is there any things we should be aware of with the in place upgrade and is there any compatibility issues if the application servers are upgraded to 2016 or 2019 with the database servers running 2012 R2 until they are upgraded.

Thanks in advance

I'm not aware of any compatibility issues which might impact App Portal if you were to upgrade your servers.. I might suggest that you make a copy of your App Portal install folder, just in case, and obviously a DB backup.
