_short WHAT IS IT?

When i repack some applications i get the following on an INI file entry:

_short(NORMAL PATH TO FILE) why? I have to go and manually edit the path to normal. why does it do this? or more to the point What is it doing?

Hello,

If legacy setup has SFN in INI file then Repackager creates this _SHORT. You will not see _SHORT in msi package.

ok, then why do all the INI files this MSI packet writes have _short(Path to app) in them and not work?

I'm afraid to say, that I've always had the same problem of '_SHORT' never being resolved in the msi.

I've now just got into the habit of searching all of my msi in direct editor mode for _SHORT and hard coding the path.

Anyone got a better solution

(Or is it fixed in Service Pack 1 that only version 5 users can have :mad: )
