Shortcut pointing to an application not in install

Is it possible to create a shortcut that points to an application that is not contained in the install? In this case the shortcut points to an application on a mapped drive. I type in the path but then during the install the path is changed to where the shortcut is located. So since I'm putting this on the desktop the path to the exe is on the desktop. In the past I've created the shortcut after the install but I'd like to avoid that here if possible.

Hi,

I feel yes, you should be able to do so. But this is a pure InstallShield/Msi question. Can you please put your question in the latest InstallShield forum?

Thanks!
