Background:
OS: win2k
Deployment: GPO
User based software application policy.
I start with a clean vmware install from our RIS server, install remote repackager, and take an initial snapshot.
Install the software, make some changes, and take final snapshot.
Go back to my workstation, finish the repackager setup, and use distribution wizard to push it out to our file server, as an administrative install.
Put the machine into a test OU, with the needed policy applied for the new package. Reboot the machine.
It installs the software, I open the software, try to 'login' to the software, BSOD, reboot.
....
Also, sometimes when I try to open my documents, or my computer, or look at any sort of filesystem window, it tries to install our Acrobat msi.
Other times, It will try to install an unknown device.
The ALLUSERS property doesn't seem to be working either. User bob logs in, installs the software, and the logs off, user bill logins, and still has to install the software. The icon is there, but when he opens it, it runs the msi to finish the install..
