according to this, it ensures that your Virus-scanning-toolset has detected some suspicious software and you/one should act according to your companies policies.
My question is in regard and beforehand this situation will occure. Is FNMS in somehow able to detect or prevent suspicious packages from distribution into the environment? Not using any 3rd Partytools to detect a security issue, but using the native functionalities within FNMS and prevent/or not distribute / recive any manipulated settings or configurations or NDI-files

We have the request to confirm that there is no way to manipulate download and upload packages and integrate suspicious Malware or Viruses/unexpected batch-files/scirpts or executables between Beacon and Agent and therefore, affecting the Application itself.
1.) from Agent (NDI-file) to the Beacon (upload), there should be no possibility to integrate suspicious things or to be later executed on the Beacon
2.) from Beacon (policy or within Agent upgrade packages) to the Agent (download), there should be no way to execute suspicious things on Agent, integrated in the downloaded Package.
3.) ApplicationServer and configured Settings, to be distributed in the environment. If the Server is effected, it should not be distributed, based on FNMS communications.
4.) If you manipulate a Agent-Upgrade Package one the Beacon forcefully, and you will integrate a suspicious File /executable into it and let this Package go live, will it be ensured that this "evil" package will not get deployed?
So, if one of the Beacon or the Agent is effected by a Virus or something else, it should not effect the Application (Batch-Server) based on the internal communication between Agent -> Beacon -> Server vice versa only. Correct?
And, yes we have Virus-scanners active in our env. So, the question is more about the detection/prevention of doing maliciouse things, if it comes to a native communication within the FNMS-Applikation and its environment, regardless of other Services running. (using FNMS 2022R1 on-prem)
And not to see something like this (with a smily and we haven't faced it) after an Agent was upgrade by the Server policy automatically

You can choose which Version to be used by the Beacon, either in Inventory Settings:
Or in the Beacon Overview if you edit a Beacon:
In my Env. I've set both options prior to the update of the Server and never had an issue with the Beacons or its gathered NDI-files. 1.) Inventory Settings -> choosing your actual Version (before the update)
2.) each Beacon set to "Do not upgrade automatically" and let them run. (also before the update) 3.) Update the Server
4.) activate the Beacon Version you would like to have in Inventory Settings
5.) activate the Beacon upgrade on each Beacon in the Beacon Overview, one by one.

Hi,
after latest ARL release, I can also confirm the issue of long-term-running processes has been eliminated on our Env.
Speeking though, have you rolled back the "...match double ended wildcards..." (Tibco Unix evidences as mentioned by nrousseau1 above)?
Or how did you overcome this issue, Flexera? Just out of curiosity here.

you can adjust the execution of the Reconcile by considering to adjust the Task in Task Scheduler and adopt it to an earlier run, prior to the time your clients are expecting the reports?

a possible workaround helped us to overcome the issue.
you can increase the timeout-settings on BatchServer for the whole Reconciliation Process: https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Manager-Knowledge-Base/Inventory-import-and-license-reconcile-timeouts/ta-p/5661
In our Case (also on-prem hit by ARL update) it helped, even though the Reconciliation Process is now taking much longer then before.

Hi, we have had the same issue after ARL-update to Version: 2718 on 02.12.2022.
The step " WriteFileEvidence - Match double ended wildcards" run into timeout and reconcilation was broken. Before the ARL-Update, this Step only tooks about 30 Min. We've adjusted registry on BatchServer to increase the timeout for the whole process and after this, the Step "...Match double ended wildcards" was processed in 2h 20min and Reconciliatioin was done successfully.

When using method to manually download the packages from product and licence center, the link to the package is displaying latest version, but the content of the Package is often not updated and is showing an older version in the .cab files. latest seen in PURL-Desktop.cab, but that has been fixed recently. Anyway, it is often like the Download-Portal is displaying the latest version while the content wasn't updated.

we have had several issues and Cases. e.g. one was: On Unix the FNMS Docker Scan option causes massive growing defunct processes of about 3000 new entries every day leading to system crash / reboot. As Workaround we disabled Dockerscan in FNMS GUI. and also: We have enabled Container scanning in our Env. On a System where no Docker-deamon is running, the setting is trying to establish a new service which will fail to start, because dockerd is not found. On some Systems it even tries to start the service every Minute and will not stop. The syslog is monitored and will generate an Auto-Ticket for OS-Admins as soon an Error or failure has occurred in syslog. Therefore our Admins have received almost 700 Tickets in short period of time. Only solution was to disable Container scanning via UI and redistribute the Policy again. Both issues should be solved in Version 2021R1
