I tried to validate a new vCenter for collection. I got an error message: Test Failed, Error: VMware API not available.
Answer:
It is possible the VMware API service is restricted. Below are instructions on verify the service is running correctly on vCenter and that the credential has the correct access level. Please open a web browser and enter https://x.x.x.x/mob (replacing the x.x.x.x with the IP address of vCenter or ESX host if no vCenter is present). A successful test will result in displaying the Managed Object page. Please let us know if you can successfully view the MOB page and the VMware credential is failing in the virtual appliance.
