How to use the Database Collection Module:
- Database collection module documentation reviews credential information needed to enable the collection
- The database module collects information about the connectivity of each schema within your database host, and integrates client connections into our overall connectivity architecture. Assessments with the Database Module active are able to map server dependency to the schema level so an organization can understand what particular data sets an application may be dependent on
Additional Reports and Features Will Be Added to the Assessment:
- The Database Summary report will be included under ‘Add Intelligence > Available Reports’ section of the assessment.
- On the ‘DBs by Connectivity table’ in the report you can select the linked server names to populate the below table with the connectivity details, or ‘Export All Connections’
- Note, in the Database Summary report, databases with credentials will have duplicate entries for Oracle if that database has several SIDs
- On the ‘Consume Intelligence > Assets’ page you can select the ‘Schema Dependency tag’ for all schema dependencies collected
- Also on the Assets page, a device will have the device type ‘Database Instance’ only if the host device(s) are not in inventory (as determined by the host device having the same IP as the inventoried database). Devices with functioning OS or VMware reporting will show up as their standard device type, such as Virtual- Windows Server, Windows Server, etc.
