Question:
We're seeing some latency issues collecting data from offshore. We're considering installing a second appliance. Do we create a new assessment for the second appliance, or do we add it to the existing assessment? How does this impact licensing? How does it impact discovery, e.g., does it limit our ability to see dependencies?
Answer:
There is a limitation of one RN150 virtual appliance per assessment. If an additional assessment is created, it will require an RN150 be deployed. The licenses are shared at the subscription level. All assessments created under a subscription will have access to the burst licenses. The team will need to ensure that all devices are remediated and accessible prior to the burst being enabled. Assessments do not share device or application dependency data. If there are application connections between data centers, we should see the connections to the applications but not in a visual format*.
(*can see all connectivity on connections tab on VIAS page, external dependencies to Out of Scope Services)
