Need Explanations on ITV Keywords

Hi,

Can someone help me with the following topics in the ITV?

Abbreviations:

Hardware EOS: Is it End of Sale, End of Support, or End of Service?
Explanation with examples:

Hardware GA, EOS, and Obsolete
Software GA, EOL, and Obsolete
I understand that the definitions and dates of lifecycle stages can vary from vendor to vendor. I would like to understand how Flexera defines these terms and presents the data in the dashboard.

Thank you,
Sasi

IT Visibility references the Technopedia Lifecycle Standards and Process definitions in this context.

Thanks,

Hi @JohnSorensenDK ,

Thank you for sharing the link! It is really useful to understand the definition & standards. However i still have the confusion about what (H) EOS is referring to? as per the link you have provided Hardware EOS refers to End of Support, but the help button (question mark next to fields) on the ITV says it is EndofSale.

EndOfSale and Endofsupport are totally different, Can we have clear conclusion of what is EOS? is it end of sale date of a hardware or is it Endof support date of a hardware.

Regards

Sasi

Thanks for notifying me/us about this discrepancy, I will ask the documentation team to update it.

For hardware EOS refers to 'End of Sale'.

Still not clear on your reply.

Which of these two is going to be updated by the Documentation team. The lifecycle definition or the helpfile in ITV

@alancepeda

It's the Technopedia Lifecycle Standards and Process that needs to be updated as the EOS abbreviation refers to 'End of Sale' in hardware context. I have an open ticket with our technical writers to get this updated after consultation with our Data Intelligence Team.

Thanks,
