FlexeraOne Inventory devices getting deleted and recreated every week after a BA updates the device names

It appears that all inventory devices for Mac laptops disappear every Thursday morning, which just so happens to be the day after a BA updates the asset and assigns the laptop its correct name. When the new inventory device appears that same morning it has a basic name and has lost all of the previous history.

If the Device name is updated and doesn't match the AD record, will this be the reason the inventory record gets deleted and recreated again with the OG name?

The inventory source for the device is the Flexnet agent

I have faced this same issue it happens due to difference in names. If inventory device name is different that what asset have then it will change name daily which will in result of creating new record.

For example, Device1 is inventory record and Device2 is asset record with same serial number once BA runs it will change it's name to Device2 because it's linked then next day when again inventory comes for Device1 it will create new record. This will run in loop until you change name of asset or inventory device. Name need to be change from the source not in Flexera.

Correct @atique @krystel_campos .  The inventory device name can't be changed as that is what has reported from the agent - it is the network name of the device
