Summary

License consumption for virtual machines belonging to resource pools may not consume most license types (except for IBM PVU licenses) when using FlexNet Manager Suite 2022 R2.

Cause

This issue is caused by a logic error when processing details of virtual machines belonging to resource pools.

Mitigation

This issue can be avoided by installing the Hotfix 1 for FlexNet Manager Suite 2022 R2. See the following post for details: Hotfix for FlexNet Manager Suite 2022 R2.

Hi Flexera,

was this fix really implemented in 2023R1?

I still have the same issue with an IBM VPC license.

That setup is like this: Host -> Physical Shared Pool -> Virtual Shared Pool -> VM

The calculated consumption is correct but the VM/Host still consumes 0 entitlements.

@maxhensel - the fix for this particular issue is definitely included in the 2023 R1 release. However it is possible that the behavior you are seeing has a different root cause which may need further investigation.
