View software SKUs with the new SKU Browser
|
The SKU Browser displays any software SKU which is recognized and populated in the FlexNet Manager Suite SKU library. On accessing the SKU Browser, you can enter a SKU number and browse publishers, applications and their extended descriptions. You can also search by publisher and product to return a list of SKUs along with additional information to help you choose the most relevant option. The new SKU Browser is a great source of SKU information available at your fingertips, and will help to reduce time and effort when creating purchase orders. |
OpenShift: The Kubernetes agent has been enhanced to provide discovery and visibility of Red Hat OpenShift operators |
In this release, the Kubernetes agent can now recognize worker node inventory in a Kubernetes cluster for Red Hat OpenShift. It is collecting inventory data for the actual worker node that the Kubernetes container was deployed to. This enhancement is supported by the Standard Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent (often referred to as the "full" Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent), and the Lightweight Kubernetes Inventory Agent. Installer evidence will be updated to reflect new inventory, and inventory that is no longer present will be removed each and every time the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent collects inventory from a Kubernetes cluster(s) in your environment. |
The Kubernetes Inventory Agent can now recognize KubeVirt virtual machines installed on a worker node in a Kubernetes cluster |
The Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent has been further enhanced to now recognize KubeVirt virtual machines installed on a worker node in a Kubernetes cluster. KubeVirt is a Kubernetes extension that allows running traditional virtual machine workloads natively side by side with container workloads. Prior to this enhancement, only virtual machine inventory data pertaining to the Kubernetes container was collected by the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent and viewable on the All Containers page in FlexNet Manager Suite. From this release onwards, inventory data is now collected for KubeVirt virtual machines installed on the actual worker node that the Kubernetes container is deployed to. |
The Kubernetes Inventory Agent now supports deployment of Helm chart templates |
The Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent now supports predefined out-of-the-box Kubernetes Helm chart templates. For Flexera customers who use Helm charts, this new functionality will help to accelerate the deployment of the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent to your Kubernetes clusters. |
IBM Cloud Pak: New functionality added for IBM licensing capabilities for container environments |
FlexNet Manager Suite now supports two new additional IBM license metric types: Resource Unit (RU) and Managed Virtual Server (MVS). With the support of these additional license metric types, IBM RU licenses and IBM MVS licenses can now be created in FlexNet Manager Suite for the following Cloud Paks: IBM Cloud Pak for network automation, IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps, and IBM Cloud Pak for security. For each day that IBM products or Cloud Paks run in each Kubernetes cluster in your environment, either the Flexera Kubernetes inventory agent or the lightweight Kubernetes agent collects consumption information as evidence from the IBM License Service. FlexNet Manager Suite normalizes the data from the IBM License Service, and recognizes the Cloud Paks and bundled products they contain, as well as any stand-alone IBM products.

Microsoft Intune Adapter supports MAC OS |
The Microsoft Intune Adapter now supports the collection of MAC OS device information from Microsoft Intune. On using the Microsoft Intune adapter, MAC OS device information collected from Microsoft Intune is imported into FlexNet Manager Suite, giving you visibility of your MAC OS managed devices in your Microsoft Intune estate and subsequently used to calculate license consumption. |
Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) verification data can now be added to the Oracle GLAS evidence archive |
The FlexNet Inventory Agent capabilities have been extended to allow for importing Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) data into the Oracle GLAS evidence archive. For EBS verification, Oracle requires that your report includes key information pertaining to the installation, configuration, and usage of Oracle EBS products, their components, and features. Imported EBS data can be used to verify that your Oracle EBS implementation, whether you have created custom features, and the like, is compliant in an Oracle audit conducted by Oracle Global Licensing and Advisory Services (GLAS). When the new Include Oracle E-Business Suite check box is selected, additional EBS verification data is added to the OracleGLASEvidence.zip archive, ready for submission to be audited when required. You can also choose to disable or enable the EBS data collection. It is disabled by default. |

The VMware Inventory page lists VMware vSphere and vCenter application inventory detected in your organization. As per recent VMware licensing changes (VMware now only offers core-based subscription based licensing), four new columns have been added to provide relevant insights into the new licensing model and to better track ESXi machines and vCenters that are no longer reporting. |

IBM sub-capacity reports are now scoped to location and business entity |
IBM sub-capacity reports are now scoped to a business entity with the peak consumption contributed by the hosts in that location/entity. Prior to this enhancement, when running any of the IBM sub capacity audit reports, the totals for the license consumption did not apply to user scoping, and the overall peak value for each license for all resources in all locations were reported on. For example, if you were restricted to the EU region you would still see the global license in the report. |

New support for Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) on the Flexera Kubernetes inventory agent |
From this release, OLM is also supported on the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent. With this new feature, customers can now leverage OLM's capabilities, such as streamlined deployment, simplified management, and automated operations, while using the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent. |
New fields added to the Purchase Order Upload Standard template |
Five more fields have been added to the Purchase Order Upload Standard template to provide additional information for tracking purchase data. This new information will help identify who authorized the purchase order, processed it, requested it, the requested date and associated request number. |
RPM packages for Linux architectures are now signed using SHA-2 algorithm |
The RPM packages for various Linux architectures supported by the FlexNet Inventory Agent are now signed using a SHA-2 algorithm. An updated public key is required which can be downloaded from the PLC. In addition to this change, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 are no longer supported as they do not support SHA-2 signing algorithms. |
