Summary
This article explains what the "ComplianceHistoryLimited_MT" table does in FlexNet Manager Suite and its difference with the ComplianceHistory_MT table.
Synopsis
The dbo.ComplianceHistory_MT and dbo.ComplianceHistoryLimited_MT tables are the top 2 consumers of disk space in the FNMSCompliance database as some DBA's may notice, because the dbo.ComplianceHistory_MT table is used to record all the user front and back end activities including object creations, updates and deletions.
dbo.ComplianceHistoryLimited_MT is a legacy table that is originally named dbo.ComplianceHistory_MT before FlexNet Manager Suite 2016. It stores history records logged before FNMS is upgraded to 2016 or later. After the upgrade, new history records will be stored in a newly created table that is still named dbo.ComplianceHistory_MT.
The difference between the old and new tables is that the datatype of the dbo.ComplianceHistoryLimited_MT.ComplianceHistoryID column is INT while the dbo.ComplianceHistoryLimited_MT.ComplianceHistoryID column is BIGINT.
It is safe to truncate dbo.ComplianceHistoryLimited_MT if you are OK with losing all history records logged before FNMS 2016.
