Java license configuration

Has anyone found a good way to build the server and desktop licenses for Oracle Java?
Really do not want to do 1000's of exceptions in two different licenses.

And no, my part numbers do not recommend a solution.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello,

We have the same issue so I am also curious if somebody has a good solution.

Hi @JeffVoss

I suggest the use of a business importer, as with Oracle DBEE NUP vs Proc optimization business adapters which allocate production servers to DBEE Proc and dev test devices to DBEE NUP licenses.

See:

You will just need to be able to identify the rule for end user devices vs servers

@Nico_Erasmus,
This is a nice way to set up database servers that don't change regularly. With both Windows 7 and 2008 replacement projects running, this does not scale for monitoring Oracle Java installs. The purpose of owning FNMS is to not have to maintain spreadsheets for each application on a daily basis.

@JeffVoss , agreed that one does not want to maintain spreadsheets. But a similar model can be used - you can run a query that places all end user equipment OS device serial numbers in the list to be allocated by your adapter.
