Not able to deallocate component application from license

Hi Team,
We have reached a situation where we are not able to de-allocate 'component ' of application suite which are wrongly assigned to a license for Tibco Publisher. There are multiple 'components' which are part of application suite. We are having operator role in FNMS 2023 R1 even then we are not able to de-allocate it.

Kindly let us know the reason why we are facing this problem and how we can fix this problem in license configuration.

Please share if there are Flexera documentation to fix this issue.
Do we need to make any setting changes on upgrade/downgrade rights on license configuration?
Is it possible to de-allocate component application or do we need to consider commercial application for correct license consumption?

Any help on this greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Sachin MS

Hi,

It is really difficult to point to a likely solution with the amount of details given. Could you share a screenshot or a list of applications linked to the license? And maybe share how the license was created, perhaps via a purchase with a SKU?

Hi @mfranz  ,

Please find below list of component applications mapped to the license. License was created manually and all the details required were updated in license configuration. So license was not created using SKU.

iProcess Engine 11
iProcess Engine 11.3
iProcess Engine 11.4
iProcess Engine 11.5
iProcess Engine 11.6

Please let me know if any additional information is required.
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Sachin MS

I'm not sure yet what's the actual problem:

  1. Some of these applications should not be linked to the license?
  2. Some of these applications are recognized as installed, although they aren't installed (false positive)?
  3. Something else ...

Hello @mfranz  ,

Thanks for the update. Please find below my response.

Some of these applications should not be linked to the license?
Yes. all above mentioned 5 applications are components. Hence it has to be deallocated from license.

Some of these applications are recognized as installed, although they aren't installed (false positive)?
There are no installations on any of them. Ask is on deallocating these applications from license only.

Something else ...
Nothing else. We are not able to deallocate these components from license.

When you're looking at the license in the tab "Applications", are those applications listed

  • in the upper area "Applications" or
  • in the lower area "Applications covered by upgrade/downgrade rights"?

Hello @mfranz
Yes, applications are listed on upper area of license configuration under Applications tab. I have attached the screenshot of the same.
Kindly help on the steps to be taken to deallocate components from the license(even though we have operator role), thanks.

Kind Regards,

Sachin MS

There should be a "Remove" button on the left side just above the table of apps. Could it be that you have limited rights in the system?

Hello @mfranz
Yes, i have limited right to Flexera.
But our SLM team colleagues are having operator role and they are not able to deallocate the license after selecting the application and clicking 'remove' button

What happens, when they click the "Remove" button? Do they get an error? Do they hit "Save" on the license object after that change?

Hi @mfranz ,
Our SLM team does not get any error response. After remove option is selected and save button is clicked, no error response but the application component is allocated back to the license.

Do you have any triggers or other automations rolled out that could cause this behavior?

Hi @mfranz ,

I have checked with my team internally and there are no triggers or custom scripts or adhoc automations which is causing the issue.
Additionally our SLM team are not facing any issue in deallocating components from other licenses.

Issue is specific to few Tibco license only.

I'm out of ideas, maybe support can help you with this one?
